19 January 2006. Official opening. The Most Reverend Vincent Nichols officially opened the new school and blessed the new chapel today.

14 November 2005. Annual Parents Meeting. Attendance was down on last year - no count was taken but there were probably around 50 parents present. The tone was less acrimonious than in recent years - surely a good sign - and the only heated debate occurred over the problems reported with the parent governor elections. In the end it was agreed that the current election would be abandoned and it would be re-run once the problems with the parent database had been resolved. There were no resolutions from the floor.

15 June 2005 PTA Website Returns. Following numerous problems associated with the transfer of the Trinity PTA domains to our new isp the website is at last up and running again.

7 February 2004 The new school web site is up and running, at the address of www.trinity-school.org.uk

8 November 2004 The Annual Parents Meeting. This year's meeting was a more muted affair than that of 2003 with fewer parents (around 80) and less confrontational. This was due in part to Simon Peaple who did an excellent job of chairing the meeting in the absence of Canon Stewart but mostly to Jim Ferguson who has worked tirelessly to restore confidence and promote reconciliation since he took office in September. Uniform was still a dominant issue though and gave rise to the only resolution of the evening. No official minutes were taken but the PTA minutes will be available on this site soon.

8 October 2004 The Trinity website has been down for a year today.

22 September 2004 Jim Ferguson addressed the parents at the PTA AGM. He shared his vision for the future, pledging to preserve and reinforce the ethos for which Trinity is known and appealing for the help and support of the parent body to achieve this. Geraldine Cullinan, Dave Pratt and Richard James remain the chair, vice chair and treasurer respectively. Sandra Butterworth replaces Arne Haugerud as secretary. See the Committee page for full details of the new committee.

30 June 2004 It was announced today that the Chair of the PTA, Dr Mark Hadley, and Secretary, Mr Colin Quinney, have resigned their posts, though they remain on the committee, ex officio, through being parent governors. Geraldine Cullinan is the new Chair and Arne Haugerud the new Secretary. Colin and Mark have resigned to avoid any confusion or conflict of interest between their roles as PTA officers and Trinity governors. It is an indication of just how poor relations between parents and governors remain that the two roles should be seen as somehow conflicting or incompatable.

11 June 2004 As we move into the final weeks of the school year and Trinity looks to renewing its Technology College status there is still no sign of the school's web site. Some governors were shown a prototype of the new site last December but no reason has been given for the continued delay.

5 March 2004 - New head appointed
On Friday 5 March the governors unanimously appointed Dr Jim Ferguson as the new head of Trinity. The appointment was fully supported by both the LEA and DSC. He was the favoured choice of the school council too !

16 January 2004 - Move To Single Site Going Ahead
The long awaited move to a single site is to finally go ahead. The building work will begin in February with Freeman Hall. Some parents have expressed concern about possible disruption to 6th form studies as they are to be moved out within a couple of weeks but in general the news has been welcomed.

10 November 2003 - Annual Parents' Meeting
Two hundred and twenty eight parents attended this meeting, making it quorate. Five resolutions were proposed including a vote of no confidence in the governors. All were passed with huge majorities. A full report of the night, including the wording of the proposals, will be posted here as soon as the committee have had an opportunity to compile and review their respective notes made during the evening. The official minutes will also be posted when they become available.

3 November 2003
One of the parent governors, Armando Magnino, today resigned over the handling of the uniform issue. Click here to read his open letter of resignation

Paul Carter has also reached the end of his term of office and cannot stand again as he no longer has any children at Trinity so there are two vacancies to be filled. Nomination forms have already been issued for Paul's position.

Meanwhile there is still no sign of the Trinity web site...

9 October 2003
The Courier printed a selection of letters regarding the latest protests. Click here to read them

8 October 2003
The Trinity web site was withdrawn this afternoon when the management realised that it was woefully out of date (e.g. Catherine Fields was still listed as principal). The BBC have quoted extracts from the ethos page on their website at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/coventry_warwickshire/3172902.stm .

Or Click here to read the Trinity ethos as was stated on the web site in full.

The Trinity site currently shows only a "site under construction" message.

A number of parents were present during the student protest - read their eye witness accounts.

Confused about how we got to where we are now ? Then read the history of this dispute by clicking here. (The dispute can be traced all the way back to 1988)

Trinity Parents E-mail Group

There are two email groups for Trinity parents on Yahoo. The TrinityParents group makes it very easy to send a message to all the parents within the group and many issues have been discussed there. The TrinityNotices group receives only special notices and announcements (such as the school newsletter) and has been created for those who do not wish to receive every email sent to the group. The three elected parent governors (Chris Pinches, Mark Hadley and Colin Quinney) are all members of the group so any issues raised will be seen by them.

If you want to join the group send an e-mail to alyson@polymaths.net stating which group you wish to join
Note that views expressed on the TrinityParents group are those of the individuals concerned and not those of the PTA or endorsed by the PTA
